Crusty Biscuits
2 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons shortening
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons sugar
3/4 cup milk
Sift dry ingredients and cut in shortening. Add milk gradually, stirring to a soft dough. Turn out onto floured board and knead 30 seconds. Roll 1/3 inch thick and cut. Bake in 425 degree oven 12-15 minutes.
