Chocolate Oatmeal Bars

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup quick-cooking oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips, 6 oz.
1/2 cup pecans

In mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Add the flour and oats; mix well. Pour into a lightly greased 11x7x2 inch baking pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle with chips; when melted, spread chocolate over bars. Top with nuts.
