Coconut-Pecan Frosting


1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks butter)
4 egg yolks, slightly beaten
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1 pkg. ( 7oz.) coconut( about 2 2/3 cups)
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans



1. Mix milk, sugar, butter, eggyolks and vanilla in large saucepan.
2. Cook on medium heat for about 12 min.( I do this for about 15 min.) until golden brown and thickened. You have to stir the entire time.
3. Remove from heat.
4. Add coconut and pecans, mix well.
5. Cool .
6. Frost the cake!
